What about pixel values in bim file. Are they fractions of one[unity] or what is
this value? How cane one obtain counts in each pixel.
The pixel values is normalized in such a way that is the probability for counts in that
pixel per defined activity [index 25] in the source and for an acquisition time of 1
seconds. The activity can be defined in a cylinder [index 14 = 4] or spread out
according to a distribution provided by a 3D image set. To get realistic counts one
need to after a simulation scale the image by the appropriate activity [if not done
already by index 25] and the appropriate time per projection. If this is done for a long
simulation one can finally add Poisson noise to the data to get a realistic image. Not
that the magnitude of the pixels remains the same even if more photons is simulated by
increasing index 26 or using the nn: switch. The statistics will of course be better if
more photons are simulated.
